 In today’s competitive world, every organization consider their employees and other members (whether at top or at low level of management hierarchy) as essential ones but individuals  are not able to give best  of their potential due to stress of work and other activities that are assigned to them . In order to improve productivity of employees, organization should arrange various events in and out. This will not only help the members to explore their talent but will also lead them in meeting and beating the competitive scenario.

When different functions are arranged in an association the individuals are able to gain knowledge of various codes of conduct, lead in a group, coordinate various issues, give exposure to their qualities. It also helps them to gain insights into planning concept.

We at Surya World give chance to our students & staff to explore their talent by the means of managing & participating in different events. Every year, an assortment of activities is conducted such as   Tech-Fest, Surya Annual Sports Meet, and Conferences, where students are given opportunity to lead and coordinate the whole happenings. Both opening and closing acts of the fest are performed by students. This helps them to become leaders and learn leadership skills by performing the work in realistic manner.

In fact, this flexibility is so crucial that 65% of respondents to an InformationWeek survey said “the ability to quickly meet business demands” was an important reason to move to cloud computing.

Some 800,000 laptops are lost each year in airports alone. This can have some serious monetary implications, but when everything is stored in the cloud, data can still be accessed no matter what happens to a machine.

Businesses using cloud computing only use the server space they need, which decreases their carbon footprint.  Using the cloud results in at least 30% less energy consumption and carbon emissions than using on-site servers.

Jack Welch, former chairman and chief executive of General Electric, loves to be heard. After retiring from GE four years ago and publishing an autobiography, he wrote a book on his management philosophy, titled Winning, which he is promoting through frequent speeches and media interviews. But, unlike most prodigious talkers, Welch is hardly boring. He advocates candor and practices it, strenuously.

His lessons are popularly termed as “Welchisms”.

Welch says that a key part of winning is hiring the right people — those who are good at what they do and therefore make the boss look good. The right people sometimes outgrow their job and move on. But “that’s fabulous,” Welch said. “Some of my former employees are running big companies and have made way for other ‘greats’ to take their place at GE.”

REDUCING STRESS!!!!!

 Is it possible that we never have stress in our lives?Can we forever wipe out this force called stress? Small children are weighed down more by their school bags and studies rather than their own weight! There is the stress of cut-throat competition all around, The youth are bogged down by the need to go for higher education, there is the stress for securing jobs and employment, Housewives have to manage with a shoe-string budget, Fathers are worried about their daughters’ alliances, Employees are tense over shuffling and job cuts, Old people pulled down by age related illnesses, The list goes on and on thereby reflecting a world which is not free of stress and tension. Every human being, in any circumstance, is bound to face it, inevitably.

Visualizing a stress – free life is the biggest hurdle in the way of a peaceful life!

The first and foremost thing that we have to accept is that things don’t work out the way always as we want them to, ever in our favour.

Do not try to put your emotions on leash, do not chain them, they are meant to flow and sway! Curbing your emotions and sentiments would fill you with unwanted tensions.

Strong emotions should not be suppressed. Do not allow artificiality to enter your system. Personally I feel that the most practical way to handle stress is to assess the situation logically . In that situation, try to be cool-headed and think:

1.  Which conditions can you change and mould. (Changeable)

2.  Which of them, you can’t. (Unchangeable)

Ways to reduce stress

Pay attention to the behavior 

Usually our actions and words reflect the stress we undergo. We get irritated quickly, are flustered and prone to making more mistakes. This further leads to more stress. For all this we sometimes have to pay a heavy price. To take charge of any situation we have to exercise patience towards controlling our behaviour. In unfavourable situations, dishing out irritation and throwing tantrums at your friends and family would serve no purpose; rather you would lose some important relationships and aggravate the tensions already existing. Unknowingly you would be damaging a lot more than you could imagine of.

Stop – Take A Break – Then Think Again

If you find yourself in a fix and think that there is no way out, then just simply wait. Hold on for a while and take a break. It will require some efforts, some extra labour but try to disentangle you from the root cause of stress. Meet your mentor or closest friend, watch your favorite movie, and listen to soul stirring songs. May sound impractical, but it is time tested. Now, after a while, rethink about the causes and channels which you haven’t touched hitherto. Try to think with an unprejudiced mind, bias-free. Put yourself in the shoes of others. Be stoic. Don’t swerve. I am pretty sure, you will find the way.

Prayer and Meditation

I have come across staunch atheists who, in times of crises, remember God, the Almighty. When we pray, or concentrate, then we establish a link with our soul and God too. A strange but satisfying peace envelopes our heart. I believe that prayers are answered, they rarely go unheeded. Even you must have experienced miracles in this world. The truth is, these miracles are beyond the realm of logic

Retail- The Booming Sector of Indian Economy

The future of FDI in India is a debatable question since the introduction of new FDI policy reforms in September 2012. FDI in Retail is a sensitive issue in India and its impact on traditional segment needs to be evaluated.
Retailing is known to be one of the strongest pillars of Indian Economy. It contributes approx 14% to the GDP and employees about 7% of the workforce from nation. The present Indian retail market is fragmented into 2 segments i.e Organized Retail & Unorganized retail. According to the Economic Survey 2012-13, which was tabled by Finance Minister P Chidambaram in Parliament, as far as small retailers are concerned, organized retail already co-exists with small traders and the unorganized retail sector. Organized retail involves modern formats of retailing like shopping malls, supermarkets, hypermarkets, category killers, specialty stores etc, constituting about 8-10% of Indian retail segment. On the other hand unorganized retail involves corner stores, paan walas, kirana shops, convenience stores, constituting about 90% of the Indian retail segment. “The organized retail sector with emergence of new store formats is recording phenomenal growth and will completely revolutionize retailing over next 3-4 years,” said the study brought by the Associated Chambers Of Commerce and Industry conducted in 2010. India is a home to 15 million points of sale, or shops, of which a majority are run as a standalone and operated by members of same family. These independent retail shops thus provide employment to family members (Technopak, 2012). Retail reforms are supposed to provide future growth in employment, Real estate and strengthening of distribution & logistic services.
Also India is seen as one of the most favored destination by foreign players after the FDI reforms. It is ranked fifth as per worldwide ranking.

To be successful in today’s competitive world each and every company should consider their Customer as the King. This definition will help companies to identify customer’s needs, providing them product and services as per their demand and get top level of satisfaction from their side.  In all respects, a satisfied customer will be happy and will   prove the quote, “A happy customer tells one friend, and unhappy customer tells everybody”.   Satisfied customer is loyal to the company and can help organization to remain competitive in the market. Hence, Customer satisfaction is a critical strategic weapon that can bring increased market share and increased profits.

 To make the customer satisfied, the relationship manager should try to champion the customer’s experience   as it is also linked to profitability.  Most of the companies with strong capabilities and competencies for delivering customer experience excellence are outperforming their competition.  In order to achieve high level of growth, organizations should always give priority to their customers, and focus on customer experience and their satisfaction at different level.
