If you think it is challenging, you are totally right! Imagine that each one of them has its own way of working, each one of them express things differently, each one of them is trying to adapt to the Indian culture. But what they have told us is that, besides all the challenges being part of this team is an amazing experience! So, here you have, people from 3 different continents (Europe, Latin America, Africa) working together with Indian people in order to organize this festival. And more important for you to know as a future participant to the event, is that you might be sure Student of the Year Challenge is going to be a great festival because all these people from all these countries are trying to come up with the best ideas for you, making the event more challenging and enjoyable.

Happy Independence Day

India celebrates the Independence Day on 15th August every year. India became an independent nation on 15th August, 1947, so a gazetted holiday is held to remember this day. But the holiday doesn’t mean you just rest at home. You can celebrate this great day in a number of ways.

What do people do on Independence day?

This is the day on which people pay homage to great leaders and revolutionists who fought for India’s freedom in the past. You will see Indian flags on the government buildings, at all of the educational institutes, and there will be decoration done in tricolor.

The president delivers the ‘”Address to the Nation” on the eve of Independence Day. India’s prime minister unfurls India’s flag and holds a speech at the Red Fort in Old Dehli. Flag hoisting ceremonies and cultural programs are held in the state capitals and often involve many schools and organizations. People also celebrate this day by going out with family for lunch, dinner or a movie.

Student of the Year challenge – A youth festival for high school students

SOTY_CP_W1 We are happy to announce and present to you an event that Surya World is pioneering and that is scheduled for mid-September. We are talking about Student of the Year Challenge, a youth festival for high school students of the region (Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali, Shimla, Patiala, Ambala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar).

If you wonder why we have decided to organize this festival and how this idea have come up to us, the answer is very simple and clear. Being an educational institution and interacting with youth every day, we realize more and more that within each student lies a big potential, that most of the times even himself is not aware of it. This potential comes up step by step in the moments when the students start having a suitable environment to show as well as build the competences they have. And so, we decided that we want to create a platform for young people to showcase their talent, acquire new skills and ideas, and interact with each other in a dynamic learning environment.
